The Heidelberg Chapter of SIAM
unites students, faculty members and anyone interested in the combination of scientific computing and industrial applications. It is supported by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).
Chapter Goals
The Heidelberg Chapter of SIAM aims to
- foster the bilateral exchange of industry and academia
- promote ideas of scientific computing in industry
- strenghten international cooperations between young scientists
Activities
Based on an irregular schedule, we perform industrial field trips to take the students into the heart of industry, to make acquaintance with possible future employers and to strenghten academic-industrial cooperations.
On the academic side, we organize regular chapter meetings with invited big-shots from industry and academia, with following non-formal get-togethers perfect for networking.
Membership
There's no formal application scheme to become a member of the Heidelberg Chapter of SIAM. We invite students, faculty members and anyone interested in applied and industrial mathematics to join the Heidelberg Chapter of SIAM.
